Staying open minded…

We see a lot of the time brides who come in to shop for their wedding gown and they show us their beautifully curated Pinterest boards and it always brings a little smile to our faces.

There is nothing wrong with browsing the likes of Pinterest for some inspo and beginning to create a bit of an idea of what you may like to try on for the day but it is important to not let these images become the be all and end all of our shopping experience.  In most (I really mean most!) cases when a bride to be pops on a gown like the one she has imagined wearing on her wedding day she finds herself staring into the mirror completely underwhelmed.

The flood of emotions that follows this is often a very unexpected and can be quite extreme. Some ladies will find this really throws them and it is then difficult for them to recover and move on with their appointment. Keeping an open mind when shopping will go a long way to helping you find the perfect gown. Embrace trying on different styles, fabrics and colours and let your gut instinct guide you, don’t stifle your reaction because the first look is always the teller, you will know if it’s the right gown.

If in doubt try it on! You don’t ever want to leave an appointment wondering what a certain style would have looked like on you so always try, and above all enjoy the process you are shopping for your wedding gown after all!
